Farm Improvement Plans 2026 – grants for farm investments, water saving and renewable energy
Greece CAP Strategic Plan 2023-2027 · Interventions P3-73-2.1, P3-73-2.2, P3-73-2.6 (EAFRD)
Υπουργείο Αγροτικής Ανάπτυξης και Τροφίμων – Γενική Γραμματεία Ενωσιακών Πόρων και Υποδομών (Ministry of Rural Development and Food – General Secretariat for EU Resources and Infrastructure)
In plain words
Grants covering 50–70% of the cost of investments on crop and livestock farms: buildings, machinery, new orchards, water-saving systems and solar power for own use. For professional farmers, farming companies and cooperatives. Applications open on 10 November 2026 and are scored and ranked, so not all will be funded.
Who can apply
Professional farmers aged 18–63 listed in the national farmers' register (ΜΑΑΕ), or young farmers already approved in the young-farmer scheme (Π3-75.1). Also farming companies with at least 50% of 2025 turnover from agriculture, and collective schemes (producer groups and organisations, agricultural cooperatives, social cooperatives/ΚοινΣΕπ). The farm needs a 'standard output' (an estimate of its production value) of at least €12,000, or €8,000 on islands other than Crete and Evia.
What it pays for
Farm buildings and facilities (new, extended or modernised), new machinery and equipment, tractors, new perennial plantations, fencing, a beekeeping vehicle, land purchase where allowed, water-saving systems, renewable energy and storage for own use, reuse of farm waste and by-products, biogas, computers and farm-management software, related studies. Grant rates: up to 50% for tractors, attachments and other costs; up to 60% for cutting-edge equipment, livestock and beekeeping investments and equipment that cuts fertiliser/pesticide use; up to 70% for energy saving, water saving and renewables. Young farmers and the North/South Aegean get +10 points on the 50% and 60% categories (capped at 60% for tractors and 70% overall). Maximum budget that can be subsidised: €200,000 for competitiveness investments (€400,000 for collective schemes), €400,000 for mainly livestock plans (€500,000), €150,000 for water saving (€250,000), €200,000 for renewables (€500,000), up to €750,000 for one combined plan across the 3 interventions (€1.25m for collective schemes) and €2.5m for biogas on livestock farms.

- Individuals: aged 18–63, registered as a professional farmer in ΜΑΑΕ (not a new entrant) or approved in the young-farmer scheme Π3-75.1; not receiving a pension (few exceptions)

- Up-to-date tax and social-security certificates; operating permits where needed (e.g. a livestock unit)

- Check that you are a professional farmer in ΜΑΑΕ, have a 2025 Single Aid Application and your farm's standard output is above the threshold.

- Submit between 10 Nov 2026 and 3 Feb 2027, 13:00.
- Check your region's ranking lists and file an objection within the deadline if needed.

Research notes: Call no. 229623/08.09.2026 (ΑΔΑ ΡΘΗΟ4653ΠΓ-ΧΙ7) under ΚΥΑ ΦΕΚ Β' 4988/06.08.2026. The 1st amendment (Oct 2026) moved the opening from 6 Oct to 10 Nov 2026 (system not ready) and the deadline from 20 Jan to 3 Feb 2027 13:00; the specialist press says the opening could slip again, so check before applying. Public budget €263,539,000 split by region in Table 1 of the call (largest Κεντρική Μακεδονία ≈€49.2m, smallest Αττική ≈€4.4m). Amount fields are empty on purpose: the official ceilings (€150,000–€2.5m) are maximum subsidised budgets, not grant amounts. Grant rates are from the official pre-announcement of 19.12.2025 (minagric.gr); mainland areas in Just Transition plans (ΕΣΔΙΜ) get +5 points on the 50%/60% categories. Expenses from 1 June 2026 can count at your own risk, provided pre-application spending is at most 80% of the approved cost. Stage 'new' only covers young farmers already approved under Π3-75.1 and newly formed collective schemes; brand-new farms cannot apply. The own share can be financed with the new Agricultural Entrepreneurship Fund loans (HDB). Payments are made by ΑΑΔΕ, which has taken over OPEKEPE's paying role. ΟΠΣΚΕ is the state-aid application system used for all CAP investment calls.
