Grants of €90,000–€510,000 for independent production companies developing 3 to 5 films or series (fiction, animation, creative documentary) for international release. You need a proven track record: two works since 2020 commercially released in at least three other countries.

Who can apply

Independent European audiovisual production companies based in a MEDIA country (such as Greece), not more than 25% controlled by a broadcaster or platform. Single applicants only.

What it pays for

Fixed amounts per work for the development phase (before production): animation €55,000–60,000, creative documentary €30,000–35,000, fiction €45,000–100,000 depending on production budget, plus an optional €10,000 for a short film by new talent.

What must be true for you

  • Independent production company based in a MEDIA country.
  • Two works since 2020 (animation, fiction or creative documentary of at least 24 minutes, or immersive) commercially released in at least 3 countries other than your own; festivals do not count.
  • The company (or its CEO or a direct shareholder) was the sole or major producer.
  • A slate of 3–5 works for cinema, TV or digital platforms.

How to apply

  1. Read the CREA-MEDIA-2027-DEVSLATE call document and ask the Creative Europe Desk in Greece for help.
  2. Create an EU Login, get a PIC and fill in the independence and ownership file.
  3. Prepare the application form and a creative dossier for each work.
  4. Submit online on the Funding & Tenders Portal by 1 Dec 2026, 17:00.
  5. Evaluation runs Dec 2026–Apr 2027; results in May and grant signature in August 2027.

Research notes: Call document: budget EUR 22,374,320 (subject to adoption of the 2027 EU budget), requested grant EUR 90,000–510,000 lump sum; the funding rate is fixed in the grant agreement (not stated). The Mini-slate call (aimed at lower-capacity countries such as Greece) was not found open for 2027 on 2026-10-17.
