Who can apply

Existing businesses with a seat or branch in the Ionian Islands when they apply, together with research bodies (research centres, institutes, university labs). The coordinator must be one of the businesses.

What it pays for

R&D projects of up to 24 months (mainly staff costs: researchers, technicians, support staff) in the Ionian Islands' smart-specialisation (RIS3) areas. The aid rate depends on company size and type of research (EU GBER art. 25); research bodies can be covered up to 100%.

How to apply

  1. Find a research partner and agree the topic and budget.
  2. Download call ION67, its 1st amendment (7 Aug 2026) and the FAQ (1 Oct 2026) from efepae.gr or diaxeiristiki.gr.
  3. Prepare the proposal: technical content, team, budget per partner.
  4. Submit online on OPSKE (opske.gr) by 30 Oct 2026, 15:00.
  5. After approval: at least 20% of the project within 12 months; costs eligible until 31 Dec 2029.
