InvestEU-guaranteed business loans through Greek banks (EIF / EBRD)

InvestEU – Greek Member State compartment (Recovery Fund resources, Greece 2.0)

Ευρωπαϊκό Ταμείο Επενδύσεων και EBRD μέσω ελληνικών τραπεζών (European Investment Fund and EBRD via Greek banks)

In plain words

You ask your bank for a loan under an InvestEU programme: the EU guarantee (50%–80%) means less collateral and better pricing. There are products for general competitiveness, green investment, innovation/digitalisation and micro-loans. The bank decides on the loan.

Who can apply

SMEs, self-employed people and farmers (small mid-caps in some products) based in Greece that pass the bank's credit check. Excluded e.g. tobacco, gambling, real-estate development, weapons.

What it pays for

Investment and working-capital loans. Examples: Chania Bank 'SME Competitiveness' €10,000–€7,500,000 with an 80% guarantee; Alpha Bank 'Microfinance InvestEU' up to €50,000 for micro firms with a 50% guarantee, no guarantee fee and no property collateral; Eurobank and National Bank 'InvestEU RRF Sustainability' and 'Innovation & Digitalisation'.

Research notes: greece20.gov.gr (updated 14.09.2026): Greek InvestEU compartment = €800m via EIF (SME competitiveness, sustainability, innovation & digitalisation guarantees) + €98.5m via EBRD (capped green/digital portfolio guarantee); budget field = sum. Terms differ by bank and product, so amount fields are null. Piraeus lists SME Competitiveness (50% guarantee), Microfinance (80%) and Sustainability (up to 80%) products. Not all bank products state whether they draw on the Greek compartment or the EU-wide InvestEU guarantee. Level set to 'national' because it is Greece's own compartment delivered by Greek banks.
